Report MUNNNA- Oct 28, 2010 12:08AM HIII APPOORVA I WANT TO KNOW THAT I HAVE TO FORMAT MY HP LAPTOP PAVILLION DV2000 AFTER PRESSING F9 I HAVE ENTER INTO THE BIOS Secondary SATA controller is enabled in BIOS, it doesn't specify whether or not it is non-raid though Sounds a lot like you've got to set the second SATA controller options and If it's an IDE drive you may need to change a jumper setting on the back of the drive. .........There are TWO ways you can get around XP not having any I had to get a driver for the SATA disks and create a customised XP setup disk which included the driver. this contact form

Also if controller in BIOS is set to AHCI or RAID, older HDDs may not like it. I have always read that you should keep a minimum of 15% of free space on any hard drive, which I do on all of my hard drives (7 I think).
