I'm out of ideas after that. Bother my computer and the recovery programs recognize that my memory card is in the drive, but not that it is/contains anything! Louisa Páez Michelin Fine Art Photographer I also found stopping before the card is completely full to help. Have you tried insertingthe card and starting Disk Utility to see if DU recognizes it? I know how to dismantle the camera. Canon No Card In Camera OMG!

i used compressed air and everything seems to be working fine now! have a peek at these guys But if the camera also has problems with a 2GB SD card, then it's likely that the switch inside the camera's slot is stuck. Hopefully that will work! They then offered me 15% off on their website to upgrade to another model. My Camera Wont Read My Sd Card
Fantanstic, did not know about the swtich at the bottom of the slot. Although the SDHC card looks exactly the same as a standard SD card, the format the card uses is very different. If the protocol is slightly different your computer may not recognize it. I have tried everything and can't fix it. Your Rebel XS camera will accept SD or SDHC cards only.SD cards are up to 16GB and use the FAT12 filesystem.SDHC cards are up to 32GB and use the FAT32 filesystem.SDXC this content I have a slightly different problem but cant find anywhere on the net that seems to be able to help...Trying to put the card in my computer too roughly iv managed

I connected the camera to my computer, it showed that the card is full but it said the folder is emty, no file on it. I retried it in the computer formatting as NTSC, after which I got "Memory Card Error." Now that the camera recognized the presence of the card, I could use the camera
