Check your Task Scheduler for any running teaks, and see if any of those tasks are set to wake the computer up. Have you any other ideas that might assist in getting this problem sorted out. When I press the power button (how I normally get it out of sleep mode), the hard drive engages and the hard drive icon flashes, and then nothing. I have set my desktop background away from showing pictures and made it a solid color. Ive tried changing the red blue and green settings and it doesnt work. Cant find out how to disable automatic Windows update and I make sure to push my keyboard and mouse back underneath the overhang of my monitor so my cat can't walk I have also tried removing Sidebar gadgets to see if one of those was the culprit.
I've had this problem for about a year and it has been wearing down my computer's performance. You can click on Change Plan Settings to disable that as well if you want.
